Supervision for Counsellors & Psychotherapists

What can sessions help with?

There are four key areas that therapy sessions can support you with, these are:

1

Difficult emotions

Whether you’re struggling with low self-esteem, feeling angry, or confused about things that have happened or are happening in your life.

2

 Mental or physical health challenges

Including depression, anxiety or upsetting health conditions/diagnoses.

3

Upsetting life events

For example, bereavement, relationship breakdown or work-related stresses.

3

Building self-awareness/identity

This can include exploring challenges around gender or sexual identity, along with other changes in life that lead you to question who you are or what you want from life.

Whether you’re a trainee Counsellor on placement or a qualified practitioner working in an agency or private practice setting, I offer a supportive and nurturing supervision experience using an integrative approach.

Supervision Experience & Background

I currently serve as a group and individual supervisor for a youth counselling agency in Basingstoke alongside working with supervisees in a private practice setting. My clinical experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist in a number of settings including voluntary sector agencies, NHS IAPT services and private practice have led me to gain experience in supervising both short-term, goal focussed work (often used with younger clients and in agency settings) and long-term relational psychotherapy (particularly where there is a focus upon trauma and attachment-related issues) that I more frequently work within private practice. My work as a college lecturer in counselling and in agency settings means that I regularly supervise student/trainee counsellors in conjunction with providing specialist adoption and relational trauma-focused supervision to qualified practitioners in private practice. My supervision style reflects an integrative philosophy and is based upon the Hawkins and Sohet seven-eyed model of supervision.

  • Hourly or 1.5hr sessions - to reflect the level of supervision time required

  • In-person or online - sessions can take place either in the town centre of Basingstoke or online using Zoom.

If you have any other questions about sessions or the supervision process in general please do feel free to get in touch and I shall be happy to assist.
